We Are An AAHA-Accredited Hospital

At The Village Vets of Westside Atlanta, we’re serious about providing the very best veterinary medicine to every patient who walks through our doors. To prove that dedicated, we became an AAHA-accredited animal hospital. Unlike human hospitals, veterinary hospitals are not required to become accredited so the standard of care can vary from hospital to hospital. Providing pets with excellent care is what we do, so we sought AAHA accreditation.

What Does It Take to Become Accredited?

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) measures animal hospitals against 900 standards of veterinary excellence. We not only had to meet these standards to become accredited, but we need to maintain them and keep up with all the latest best practices in order to hold our accreditation. Every 3 years, an AAHA representative pays us a visit, unannounced, to ensure we continue to uphold their standards.

AAHA’s standards cover:

  • Cleanliness and hygiene
  • Surgical procedures and equipment
  • Anesthesia protocol
  • Diagnostics
  • Dental care
  • Vaccinations
  • Pain management
  • Emergency services
  • Client services
  • And so much more
